Collaborative Approaches to High-Intensity Test-and-Treat for Hepatitis C in Scottish Prisons - The Story So Far

Presenters: Jess Ryan - NHS Lothian | Jacky Shaw - NHS Lothian | Paul Cushley - NHS Lothian | Colin Lawton - The Hepatitis C Trust | Lee Christensen - The Hepatitis C Trust

This session explores recent whole-prison hepatitis C testing initiatives in Scotland, led by NHS Lothian in collaboration with The Hepatitis C Trust. These initiatives, specifically High Intensity Test and Treat (HITT) events at HMP Edinburgh and HMP Addiewell, are the first of their kind in Scotland. They build on The Hepatitis C Trust’s extensive experience with similar initiatives in England. The session will provide insights into planning, implementation and impact, highlighting best practices and opportunities for future work.
